Who is Miss Renee & the 2 J’S?
A few months ago, Stephannie Renee’ and her two sons, Joshua and John “LJ”, and with the help of Yolanda McMillan of Layout & Design by Yolanda launched “Miss Renee & the 2J’s”. This dynamic trio decided to take a leap of faith to fulfill Stephannie’s dream and her vision to open the family business and “Miss Renee & 2J’s” was born.
Stephannie is a native of Alexandria, Louisiana where making “pecan candy” is a treasured Louisiana tradition shared by many across the state. Her handmade candy is a delicious, addictive treat, fantastic for any occasion. She uses “Miss Renee” as her candy making moniker and looks forward to filling orders for individuals, parties, wedding favors, and work events. She is proud to be a Louisiana praliniere in North Carolina and is honored to be part of a legacy that goes back many generations. Her tagline is “Louisiana taste, North Carolina made”. When you place your order and you say “pray-leen”, Miss Renee will respond with a smile how many “prah-leens” would you like? Once your order arrives you will know why her hashtag is #TasteLikeADream
A little lagniappe (a lil’ something extra): New Orleans now signature “pecan candy” was actually one of the earliest street foods in American and was a means for emancipated black women to make a living during a time when resources, education and opportunity were limited.
